This article demonstrates how to detect words in nearly any program on a Mac. Using the search bar, you can look for specific words, phrases, numbers, and characters. The search encompasses all of the visible information in the document, including the main body text, headers and footers, tables, text boxes, shapes, footnotes and endnotes, and comments, among other things.

We’ve all been there when you need to locate a specific word or phrase in a paper or on a website. Instead of reading the entire page, you want to get to the word quickly. This is what you should do if you are using a Mac.

1. Ctrl + F is a keyboard shortcut that allows you to search for words and phrases on a computer or mobile device. A similar function can be accessed on a Mac by pressing the Command + F key combination. This causes a search bar to appear in the software you are now using.

It’s possible that you’d like to search using a menu rather than the keyboard. Most apps that enable search allow you to open the search bar by selecting Edit > Find > Find from the menu bar.

2. Fill in the blanks with the word or phrase you’re looking for in the search field. The number of matches is displayed in the top right corner of the screen. Additionally, the tool indicates all occurrences of the word or phrase.

3. Using the Return key on your keyboard or the arrow keys next to the search bar, you can navigate the results more quickly.

You can clear your search by pressing the Escape key or clicking the Done button when you’re finished with it. You can also click the X in the search bar to close the searcher.

So, what do you think? In short, when you’re working on a Pages document, click View in the toolbar and then pick Show Find and Replace from the drop-down menu. When the search window appears, enter the word or phrase you want to look for. It will draw attention to contests. Alternatively, the Command + F technique described above can be used.
